about

This song is about four different memories I had from high school all the way through the end of college. All of them anxiety or fear inducing situations. The chorus represents the place where I would go either physically or mentally to just get away and be okay.

lyrics

My sister is lying on the front lawn
Another boy has gone and broke her heart
She’s screaming and crying
And throwing a fit
Breaking her down has become
A sick piece of art

Dad and Grandfather are fighting again
Where I’ll go to college
And what I’ll do with myself
I’m a battleground for their own self doubt
Comparisons can be made between their anger
And my mental health

This is where I hide
This is where I want to go
To get away from here
At least I know I tried

My best friend has not been himself
Impressing some bitch with pearls
And track lines on her arms
Talking him down has been less than a success
Farther and farther
He’s gone, he’s gone

This is where I hide
This is where I want to go
To get away from here
At least I know I tried

I think I have fallen in love
With someone that wants to be alone
But she can’t stand to be with no one but herself
It’s bringing me down and I’m just not myself

I’m gone
